Markus wakes up in the hospital. His sister comes in. She comes with some heavy but expected news. She has been in contact with Jessica and learned about his deep secret. Then she informs him that their parents are ashamed of him. To make matters worse, she then tells him she currently doesn’t want him around her family to protect her son. She also asked her son Paul if Markus did anything to him. Markus confirms that nothing happened between them. His sister then gives him a kiss goodbye.
We now see Markus is following his therapist’s advice. He takes pills now, tries to avoid looking at boys in public, and has burned all of his boy photos. Markus is living his life, minding his business when one day Arthur spots him walking down the street. Arthur is really excited to see him. He runs up to Markus and gives him a huge hug. He couldn’t be happier to see him. This is actually my favorite scene in the movie. It’s just so precious how much Arthur loves Markus and just how bubbly and giddy he got seeing him; to the point that he couldn’t resist running up to give him a hug.
The characters get to a public park and sit on a bench. Arthur has the desire to spend time with him: playing games, going to amusement parks, getting bedtime stories, and eating candy (sounds like a pedo’s wet dream! Sign me up!). Markus tells him his mom probably wouldn’t like that. Arthur says he doesn’t care if his mom is against it. He suggests just keeping it a secret between them. Markus walks off to think. Arthur looks incredibly cute fumbling in his coat pocket to remove a toy car to look at out of boredom. Markus returns to where Arthur is sitting. Arthur asks for a promise to meet up on Saturday at noon at this park. Markus agrees and gives him a big hug. Markus says goodbye and whispers, “my sweet prince”. He gets a nice good hug, really embracing what probably will be the last time he will get to see Arthur.
